What is Central Voice?
Central Voice is a set of 16 digital interactive activities designed by Educational Psychologists to support Psychologists, SENCos and other professionals to elicit and assess pupil voice in a visually engaging, accessible and fun way!
Central Voice activities support children (aged 4-14) to explore and express their views. They are divided into 4 key colour-coded categories: About Me, School Life, My Social World and Me and My Feelings.
Key Features of Central Voice:
Supports communication and confidence through use of visual, low demand, collaborative activities.
Enhances engagement and motivation for children with a wide range of Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Suitable for both face to face and remote working practices.
Easily accessible and administered via the Central Voice user portal using desktop, laptop or iPad, enabling Psychologists, SENCOs and staff to:
Type the child/young persons’s responses into editable text boxes and tiles.
Record comments, observations and notes digitally.
Download completed activities and notes as a PDF to include in reports, consultation documentation or Annual reviews.
Reset activities to use unlimited times.

Explore a child’s favourite and least favourite things. Great as an initial low demand ice-breaker activity to support engagement and reduce any anticipatory anxiety.
Explore a child’s perceived strengths and positive attributes using moveable strengths/attributes cards, and record additional strengths on typeable cards.
My Amazing Strengths
Learn more about what things are important to a child, what they enjoy doing and what they might find more difficult through a fun sentence completion activity.
Finish the Sentence
My Future
Explore a child’s future hopes and aspirations by completing sentence starters that emerge from a series of Genie lamps.
SCHOOL LIFE
School Tasks: Easy or Hard?
Explore children’s views about their competencies across 15 learning tasks through the use of sliding scales. Includes academic tasks, learning behaviours and executive function skills.
School Spaces
Find out how comfortable a child feels in various school spaces using a rating out of 10 and recording more detailed discussion in the Notes section.
What Helps Me Learn?
Promote discussion around what strategies/supports help a child best with their learning, and what strategies they may not find beneficial.
Times of the School Day
Explore how a child experiences typical aspects of the school day by asking them to choose a sticker from the sticker bank.
MY SOCIAL WORLD
Social Strengths and Needs
Explore how easy or difficult a child finds certain social tasks, including social understanding and social communication and interaction.
Being with People at School
Explore how comfortable a child feels in various social situations/social groupings.
Me and My Friendships
Explore friendship, social inclusion, social motivation and social confidence through a fun apple sorting activity.
Social Risk and Resilience
Explore social factors associated with social risk and resilience.
ME AND MY FEELINGS
How I Feel at School
Explore a variety of emotions and gauge how often these are usually felt at school. Provides opportunity to explore a child’s degree of emotional literacy/maturity.
What Feeds my Volcano?
Explore specific factors that might lead to frustration, anger or overwhelm, using the metaphor of a volcano.
My Worries
Explore a child’s bigger and smaller worries, with prompt ideas if needed.
Explore what helps a child to feel calm or relaxed. Valuable to help determine what strategies can be used to re-regulate a child.
